Kalanjana Kantha Sandhyaatheeram' is a beautiful light music by K J Yesudas. Yesudas won the National Award for Best Male Playback Singer an unprecedented eight times, the Filmfare Awards South five times, and the State Award for Best Playback Singer 43 times. He is widely considered as one of the best singers in the history of Indian music, as well as a cultural icon of Kerala, as a result of all of these awards and recognition. He established the Tharangani Studio at Trivandrum in 1980. Tharangni Studio and Tharangni Records established themselves as a recording studio in Kerala, releasing audio cassettes of Malayalam film songs in stereo for the first time.
കെ ജെ യേശുദാസിന്റെ മനോഹരമായ ഒരു ലളിത സംഗീതമാണ് "കലാഞ്ജന കാന്ത സന്ധ്യാതീരം കനകരുചിരം ഏകാന്തം". മികച്ച പിന്നണി ഗായകനുള്ള ദേശീയ അവാർഡ് അഭൂതപൂർവമായ എട്ട് തവണയും ഫിലിംഫെയർ അവാർഡ് സൗത്ത് അഞ്ച് തവണയും മികച്ച പിന്നണി ഗായകനുള്ള സംസ്ഥാന അവാർഡ് 43 തവണയും യേശുദാസ് നേടി. ഈ അവാർഡുകളുടെയും അംഗീകാരങ്ങളുടെയും ഫലമായി അദ്ദേഹം ഇന്ത്യൻ സംഗീത ചരിത്രത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച ഗായകരിൽ ഒരാളായും കേരളത്തിന്റെ സാംസ്കാരിക ചിഹ്നമായും പരക്കെ കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. 1980-ൽ അദ്ദേഹം തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് തരംഗണി സ്റ്റുഡിയോ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. തരംഗ്ണി സ്റ്റുഡിയോയും തരംഗ്ണി റെക്കോർഡ്സും കേരളത്തിൽ ഒരു റെക്കോർഡിംഗ് സ്റ്റുഡിയോ ആയി മലയാളം സിനിമാ ഗാനങ്ങളുടെ ഓഡിയോ കാസറ്റുകൾ സ്റ്റീരിയോയിൽ ആദ്യമായി പുറത്തിറക്കി.
