This is a song from the movie "Kodungalloor Amma." The song "Kaveripoompattanathile kaamadevan vannirangi kalahamsacholakalile valakilungi thalakilungi" was penned by legendary poet and lyricist Vayalar Ramavarma, and music was composed by K. Raghavan and the voice was lent by Balamuralikrishna and P. Shusheela. The movie was released under the banner of Udaya Productions, produced and directed by M. Kunchako. This movie is an adaptation of the Sangam era epic Silappathikaram written by classical Tamil poet Ilango Adigal. The screenplay and dialogue of the movie was written by the famous screenwriter and dramatist Jagathy N. K. Achary. The movie was released in Kerala on November 22, 1968, under the banner of Excel Productions. The lead roles in the movie were played by Prem Nasir, KR Vijaya, Thikurushi, and Adoor Pankajam.
"""കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂരമ്മ"" എന്ന ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിലെ ഗാനമാണ് ""കാവേരിപ്പൂമ്പട്ടണത്തില് കാമദേവന് വന്നിറങ്ങി കളഹംസച്ചോലകളില് വളകിലുങ്ങീ - തളകിലുങ്ങീ "" എന്ന ഈ ഗാനം. വയലാർ രാമവർമ്മ എഴുതി, കെ രാഘവൻ സംഗീതം നൽകി, ബാലമുരളീകൃഷ്ണ, പി സുശീല എന്നിവർ ആലപിച്ച ഗാനം. ഉദയാപ്രൊഡക്ഷന്റെ ബാനറിൽ എം. കുഞ്ചാക്കോ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തു നിർമിച്ച മലയാളചലച്ചിത്രമാണ് കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂരമ്മ. ഇളങ്കോ അടികൾ രചിച്ച പ്രസിദ്ധ സംഘകൃതിയായ ചിലപ്പതികാരത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി നിർമിച്ച ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ തിരക്കഥയും സംഭാഷണവും എഴുതിയത് പ്രശസ്ത സാഹിത്യകാരനായ ജഗതി എൻ.കെ. ആചാരിയാണ്. എക്സൽ പ്രൊഡ്ക്ഷൻസ് വിതരണം നടത്തിയ ഈ ചിത്രം 1968 നവംബർ 22-ന് കേരളത്തിൽ പ്രദർശനം തുടങ്ങി. ഈ ചിത്രത്തിലെ അഭിനേതാക്കൾ പ്രേം നസീർ, കെ.ആർ. വിജയ, തിക്കുറിശ്ശി, അടൂർ പങ്കജം തുടങ്ങിയവർ.
