"Trainees are beginners, no matter what profession. Similarly, trainee engineers are most often fresh engineering graduates employed in a firm, any type of industry or organisational entity. They are assigned to perform the most basic of engineering operations and also to assist and learn functions and operations conducted within the department or team. Documentation and maintenance of files, performing field and desktop research, correctly attending meeting in the timeliest fashion, carrying out administrative functions, conducting field enquiries and travelling to locations and sites for several purposes include in their set of assigned tasks and responsibilities. Soft skills are much appreciated and looked for, especially in trainees. The main aspect of employment, other than fulfilling responsibilities efficiently, must be one’s accumulation of knowledge.
