They are mainly involved in the day to day running of a theatre production from rehersal nights to performance and post shows. They liaise and communicate with the company and organise the teams to ensure smooth running of production. Rehearsals are created and set up by stage managers, they are also responsible for ensuring theatrical performances running smoothly. They are in charge of the physical stage area of a theatre and also the technical aspects like lighting, sound, properties and scenery. These managers work in collaboration with directors, team of technicians and other specialists for creating correct atmosphere and to delivery top quality live theatre experience. They usually delegate duties to assistants and staffs. While rehersals, they shadow director and take notes regarding recording, lighting, properties, costume changes etc. They are also responsible for entrance of performers during the show.
