Senior analysts are the highest-level financial analysts. Senior analysts often operate with little supervision and earn higher wages than entry-level financial analysts. Before reaching the senior level, senior financial analysts typically have at least five to seven years of experience. A competent senior analyst has a keen eye for detail as well as an almost obsessive drive for correctness. Financial spreadsheets and other data are reviewed by senior financial analysts in order to forecast present and future financial performance. Financial analysts work for both private and public enterprises, as well as government agencies and non-profit organisations. They create financial estimates and deliver them to stakeholders, who utilise the data to make financial decisions. Senior financial analysts compare the company's current financial development to their expectations to ensure that it is on track. To deliver financial facts to firm stakeholders, good communication and presentation skills are required.
