"Production engineering, also called manufacturing engineering, refers to the design, implementation, development, management, maintenance, operation of and an overall control over the production of a material or product. Production engineers are hence primarily responsible for overseeing and enhancing productivity at manufacturing facilities, factories and plants. They collaborate and support engineering teams on a regular basis. They are expected to design strategies and operation in such a way that the efficiency, profitability, productivity and quality standards find improvement from time to time. Their set of tasks include assessing and supervising procedures and productions, ensuring that the operations are carried out according to set rules and regulations, engage in effective communication and hence collaborate with other engineers so as to enhance quality and productivity, maintaining accurate documents and more."
