They help patients recovering from injury and illness regain mobility and control pain. Physiotherapists are involved in the direct care of the patient. Physical therapist assistants often have tasks that are indirectly related to patient care, such as cleaning and setting up treatment areas, moving patients, and performing office duties. The physiotherapist assistant is responsible for massaging the patient, disinfecting the treatment area, and setting up the therapy equipment. To be successful as a physical therapist assistant, you need to have excellent communication skills. A good physiotherapist has enough strength to lift and move patients with mobility problems. The requirements for physical therapy assistants are, • Physical therapy assistant program certification. • Valid physical therapy assistant license. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Excellent interpersonal skills. • Ability to lift and move the patient. • Computer skills."
