"Pharmacy assistants assist pharmacists by performing all clerical duties necessary to ensure that the pharmacy is running efficiently. They answer phone calls, manage the cashier counters and stock shelves for drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies. Pharmacy assistant responsibilities include creating and managing patient records, ordering pharmaceutical supplies, and operating cash registers. You can also send a patient's medication question to the pharmacist. To be successful as a pharmacy assistant, you must be able to receive and unpack new inventory from suppliers.
