"A pediatric oncologists, also known as pediatric hematologists, are doctors who specialize in pediatrics and have additional training in oncology and hematology. Pediatric oncologists treat infants, children, and adolescents diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders. Pediatric oncologists are responsible for treating infants, children, and adolescents, so they can treat fewer cancers than oncologists and can treat more blood disorders such as leukemia, lymphoma, and sickle cell disease. Pediatric oncologists usually treat cancer and blood disorders more with drugs and chemotherapy than with surgery and radiation therapy. To be a successful pediatric oncologist, you must show concern for and compassion for children, and must be diligent and motivated. You must have good interpersonal and communication skills. Pediatric Oncologist Requirement: • Medical degree with successful completion of a pediatric residency and fellowship in Oncology and Hematology. • Pediatric Oncology License and Certificate. • Strong leadership and teamwork skills. • Ability to advise and communicate with children. • Caring and compassion for children. • Observation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are good. • Deep knowledge of the field and ability to stay current."
