Med tech is in charge of preparing and analysing the results of blood and bodily fluids. Also known as medical technicians or medical technologists, these highly-skilled professionals mostly work in hospitals and independent laboratories. Duties include collecting, testing, and recording samples. This position requires a qualified professional with in-depth knowledge of biology, chemistry, and various medical equipment. A medical technologist is a highly skilled health professional who tests and analyses blood, other body fluids, and tissue samples. Medical technologists are responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment used to analyse specimens and ensuring that tests are completed in a correct and timely manner. Medical technologist and nursing are two very different jobs, from their duties and responsibilities to their working hours. Medication aides work in long-term care facilities, hospitals, medical centres, assisted living care centres and correctional facilities.
