To be successful as a kitchen assistant, you should exercise exceptional time management and ensure that all duties are completed in a timely manner. Ultimately, an outstanding Kitchen Assistant should be able to comply with all food health and safety regulations. The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for supporting the activities of the Central Kitchen production team so that production schedules are followed. This includes preparing the workstations, preparing ingredients for the cooks, as well as packaging food products. He/ She is also expected to clean and reinstate work stations, operate cooking equipment and dispose of waste as per defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). He/ She is also expected to apply food production standards and SOPs related to Safety and Hygiene policies and procedures, as well as other SOPs set out by the Quality Assurance Department.
