Healthcare data analysts, also known as healthcare business analysts or health information management (HIM) analysts, collect and interpret data from various sources (such as the electronic health record, billing claims, cost reports, and patient satisfaction surveys) to assist organisations in improving the quality of care, lowering costs, and improving the patient experience. As organisations seek to capitalise on big data and its multiple applications, including how it can be utilised to drive healthcare quality improvement, their position has become increasingly vital. It's all about making decisions based on healthcare data. Any organization's data is one of its most important assets. It's critical to have people on staff who know how to gather, store, retrieve, and present data that supports clinical and business choices. Hospitals, health systems, and physician groups may use healthcare data analysts to help them determine whether to introduce a new service line, merge with other providers, or join an Accountable Care Organization. Primary role as a healthcare analyst will be to gather and analyse healthcare data from various sources in order to uncover patterns and business insights.
