Waiters and waitresses serve food in restaurants and other dining establishments. Waiter and waitresses are also called servers. Their job duties may vary depending on the size and type of restaurant. In fine-dining restaurants, waiters and waitresses offer formal service. A Food Server is responsible for taking orders from restaurant patrons and delivering their food to them. Their duties include explaining the menu to their customers, communicating with kitchen staff and balancing dishes as they bring them to the appropriate table, serves patrons with food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner, provides information to help food and beverage selections, presents ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner, maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude. Serving jobs are a great option for students, parents, caretakers or anyone else who has non-traditional available work hours.
