Job Descriptions - Construction Estimator

Templates | English

Construction cost estimators prepare estimates for buildings, roads, and other construction projects. They may calculate the total cost of building a bridge or commercial shopping centre, or they may calculate the cost of just one component, such as the foundation. To become a construction estimator, you should complete a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as construction management. Once you have your degree, you must build experience in your field. You can complete an internship or accept an entry-level position with a company. They appear to be more prevalent than the fun loving young estimator. The duties of an Estimator change that fun loving young kid into the cynic through years of performing one of the most difficult jobs in construction. The most difficult part of being an estimator is the “lose-lose” options available on bid day.
