Business Intelligence or BI is the process of generating, analysing, and storing any set of data provided by a certain organisational entity and its activities, with the help of its technical and procedural fundamental functions and systems The process of BI comprises of technological functions such as that of data mining, descriptive analysis, process analysis and performance benchmarking. It is with the employment of the very set of information prepared and stored in the technological infrastructure of BI, that it generates reports and analyses. These reports in turn help the employees of the organisation make better decisions and find more effective solutions to problems which are then applied to the said problems. This subsequently help in the growth of the firm as a whole, especially in the longer run.
