A registered nurse who has completed an authorised graduate-level training programme that educates them as a nurse practitioner is known as an acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP). This curriculum incorporates supervised clinical experience to help students develop advanced knowledge, skills, and abilities. This education and training enables them to independently: (1) perform comprehensive health assessments; (2) order and interpret the full range of diagnostic tests and procedures; (3) use a differential diagnosis to arrive at a medical diagnosis; and (4) order, provide, and evaluate intervention outcomes. The ACNP's role is to offer advanced nursing care across the health-care continuum to satisfy the unique physiologic and psychosocial demands of patients with acute, critical, and/or severe chronic health problems. This care is ongoing and thorough, and it may be given in any place where the patient is located. The ACNP is a licenced independent practitioner that can offer care on their own.
