A MLA gets the same position and privilege like that of a MP from Parliament house. They represent their own electorates from their constituency. The Speaker M B Rajesh is considered to be the primary member of the Assembly. The Kerala Legislative Assembly comprises of 140 elected representatives from the state of Kerala. Besides these 140 members, there is one member who’s nominated by the Governor of Kerala from the Anglo Indian community of the state.
