People enjoy narrowing things and coining acronyms. This is not a new phenomenon; for example, during World War II, there were WACs and WAVES, which stood for Women's Army Corps and Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service, respectively. The war is commonly referred to as WW2 or WWII, and the United States of America is abbreviated as USA. A plethora of acronyms have emerged in text messaging and online chatting to keep conversations moving. Just like that, Internet today also uses various abbreviations and slangs, some commonly used slangs are IDK- I Dont Know, BRB- Be Right Back, TTYL- Talk to you later, ASAP- As soon as possible.
