Every year on August 12th, the International Youth Day is commemorated to raise awareness about the cultural and legal issues that affect young people. After the United Nations General Assembly endorsed the recommendation of the 'World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth,' the day was designated as International Youth Day by the United Nations in 1999. As a result, it is commemorated every year to emphasise the importance of youth as the world's driving force of change. Schools and other educational institutions host a variety of activities to commemorate International Youth Day, such as concerts, workshops, cultural events, and meetings, in order to engage the youth and bring their voices, actions, and initiatives to the forefront.
