Interesting Facts about Elon Musk

Presentations | English

Elon Musk designed and sold a video game to a magazine when he was 12 years old. 'Blastar,' a space battle game, was sold to PC and Office Technology magazine for $500. Musk also worked at 'Rocket Science,' a gaming start-up. Musk's first venture was the creation of Zip2, which offered maps and business directories to newspapers and was eventually sold to Compaq for $307 million. PayPal, formerly X.com, was the source of Musk's riches. Paypal was founded in 1999 and was later bought by Ebay for $1.5 billion, $165 million of which was handed to Musk in shares. Musk created Space Exploration Technologies, or SpaceX, in 2002. Musk believed that humanity's future hinged on its potential to become a multi-planetary species, but existing rocket launching technologies were too expensive. He achieved this by launching the Falcon 1 in 2006, the Falcon 9 in 2010, and the Falcon Heavy in 2018. The Falcon Heavy was capable of delivering 53,000 kg into orbit, which was double the weight of its closest rival and approximately one-third the price.
