Information Security, sometimes shortened to InfoSec, is the practice of protecting information by mitigating information risks. It is part of information risk management. It typically involves preventing or reducing the probability of unauthorized/inappropriate access to data. Information Security refers to the processes and methodologies which are designed and implemented to protect print, electronic, or any other form of confidential, private and sensitive information or data from unauthorized access, use, misuse, disclosure, destruction, modification, or disruption. Implementing information security in an organisation can protect the technology and information assets it uses by preventing, detecting and responding to threats, both internal and external. It reduces the risk of unauthorized information access, use, disclosure, and disruption. The presentation will give better understanding on the topic.
