“India Charithravalokam” is a fampous work written by Kavalam Madhava Panickar (1895 – 1963), popularly known as Sardar K. M. Panickar, was an Indian statesmen and a diplomat. He was also a professor, newspaper editor and a novelist. K. M. Panickar wrote the book “India Charithravalokam” out of the disillusionment that sprung out of his experience from reading different historical books, which are mostly biased. The books that existed are from the sole perspective of the rulers. Through this book the author wants us to revisit the golden past of our nation. He hopes that his venture would fill in the historical voids that are present. He disregards the tendency of the British historians that divide the Indian history as the Era of Buddha, Muslims and of the British. He writes this book so as to assert the unity of the Indians and to put forward an authentic book on Indian history.
ഇന്ത്യൻ രാഷ്ട്രതന്ത്രജ്ഞനും നയതന്ത്രജ്ഞനുമായിരുന്നു സർദാർ കെ എം പണിക്കർ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന കാവാലം മാധവ പണിക്കർ (1895 - 1963) രചിച്ച പ്രസിദ്ധമായ കൃതിയാണ് "ഇന്ത്യ ചരിത്രലോകം". പ്രൊഫസറും പത്രാധിപരും നോവലിസ്റ്റും കൂടിയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. കെ.എം.പണിക്കർ "ഇന്ത്യ ചരിത്രലോകം" എന്ന ഗ്രന്ഥം എഴുതിയത്, പക്ഷപാതപരമായ വ്യത്യസ്തമായ ചരിത്രഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങൾ വായിച്ചതിന്റെ അനുഭവത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഉടലെടുത്ത നിരാശയിൽ നിന്നാണ്. നിലവിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ ഭരണാധികാരികളുടെ മാത്രം കാഴ്ചപ്പാടിലാണ്. ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിലൂടെ നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സുവർണ്ണ ഭൂതകാലത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് പുനരാലോചിക്കണമെന്ന് രചയിതാവ് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു. തന്റെ സംരംഭം നിലവിലുള്ള ചരിത്ര ശൂന്യത നികത്തുമെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യൻ ചരിത്രത്തെ ബുദ്ധന്റെയും മുസ്ലീങ്ങളുടെയും ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാരുടെയും യുഗമായി വിഭജിക്കുന്ന ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ചരിത്രകാരന്മാരുടെ പ്രവണതയെ അദ്ദേഹം അവഗണിക്കുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യക്കാരുടെ ഐക്യം ഊട്ടിയുറപ്പിക്കാനും ഇന്ത്യൻ ചരിത്രത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ഒരു ആധികാരിക ഗ്രന്ഥം മുന്നോട്ടുവയ്ക്കാനുമാണ് അദ്ദേഹം ഈ പുസ്തകം എഴുതുന്നത്.
