“Madrasile Mon” is a very famous Malayalam film which was based on a murder case of Karikkan villa, which happened in 1980. This movie was released in 1982 that was directed by J. Sasikumar, written by P.M. Nair and produced by Mani Malliath. The song starting with “Illam kodi malarkodi” is from this movie, which was sung by P. Madhuri and chorus. This song was beautifully composed by G. Devarajan and written by A.P. Gopalan.
1980-ൽ നടന്ന കരിക്കൻ വില്ലയിലെ കൊലപാതകത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കിയുള്ള വളരെ പ്രശസ്തമായ മലയാളചലച്ചിത്രമാണ് "മദ്രാസിലെ മോൻ". 1982-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ഈ ചിത്രം ജെ. ശശികുമാർ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തു, പി.എം. നായർ തിരക്കഥ എഴുതി, നിർമ്മാണം മണി മല്യത്ത്. പി. മാധുരിയും കോറസും ചേർന്ന് ആലപിച്ച “ഇല്ലം കൊടി മലർക്കൊടി” എന്ന് തുടങ്ങുന്ന ഗാനം ഈ ചിത്രത്തിലേതാണ്. എ.പി. ഗോപാലൻ രചിച്ച ഈ ഗാനം മനോഹരമായി ചിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തിയത് ജി. ദേവരാജനാണ്.
