Ikigai

Presentations | English

The Japanese concept of finding the purpose of one's life is called ikigai. The term 'iki' means life and 'gai' means value in Japanese language. It is an overlap of mainly four properties, usually represented in the Venn diagram, that is what you are good at, what you love, what the world needs and what you can be paid for. The crossover of these points, in the representation of Venn diagram is where the concept stands at. Simply, the idea of having happiness in life, than making money or having a great job title. Figuring out one's own don't happen in a day or night, finding it involves deep exploration and experimentation. Ask questions to you, it takes time to get answers out of you. Map out the answers, a document which can evolve with time. Check with yourself if it feels right and test it. Built a support system while you have transitions happen as your concentration is in finding your ikigai. More interesting facts about this topic can be obtained from the PowerPoint presentation.
