What do you mean by HRD and what are it’s main objectives? Human resources development (HRD) refers to the vast field of training and development provided by organisations to increase the knowledge, skills, education and abilities of their employees. Others may already have the necessary skills to do the job, but don't have knowledge related to that particular organisation. Four objectives of HRD are: (A) to provide a comprehensive platform for the development of human resources in the organisation, (B) to provide a climate for employees to discover, develop and use their knowledge for the betterment of organisation, (C) to retain, attract and motivate the talented employees and (D) to facilitate systematic generation of information. HR plays a key role in developing, reinforcing and changing the culture of an organisation. Pay, performance management, training and development, recruitment and on boarding and reinforcing the values of the business are all essential elements of business culture covered by HR.
