Presentations | English

What is human health and disease? It brings to life the fascinating connections between structure and function in the human body and explores the health and disease continuum in detail, including teaching on how medical therapies act to treat or even prevent disease. Human disease, an impairment of the normal state of a human being that interrupts or modifies its vital functions. Health is defined as an individual’s mental, physical, and psychological well-being. The disease is defined as the abnormal dysfunctioning of the mental-physical states, which results in illness in a specific individual and does not take into account society or community. There are approximately 110+ different types of autoimmune diseases and they affect more than 23 million Americans. Human health is one of the most important factors influencing economic development in any economy. Economic analysis of environmental health impacts has become critical for social cost–benefit analysis as well. Economic analysis of these impacts would provide avenues for investments for mitigating the adverse impacts.
