Human Health

Presentations | English

Human health can be defined as the complete state of physical, social, and mental well-being and not merely the absence of illness, disease, or infirmity. It is as vital a resource as water, food, or energy. Health is the body's functional and metabolic efficiency, and its ability to adapt to the physical, mental, and social changes that it is exposed to. It is the opposite of disease, and also means the safety of the body from physical, social, and mental disorders. There are five main aspects of personal health: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and intellectual. The direct connection between the environment and health is the potential enhancement of our physical, mental, and social well-being through our daily exposure to the natural environment. Health can be promoted by encouraging healthful activities, such as regular physical exercise and adequate sleep, and by reducing or avoiding unhealthful activities or situations, such as smoking or excessive stress.
