"The eleventh chapter of the Quran is called the Hud, where the name is derived from the mention of the story of Prophet Hud in verses 50 – 60 of this Surah. The name is not the actual entire subject discussed in this Surah but instead, the name acts as a reference and a symbol in order to set this Surah apart from the rest of the Surahs of the Quran. It consists of a total of 123 verses divided into 10 Rukus or Sections. This Surah was revealed in Mecca. Like other Surah’s revealed in Mecca, the main topic background of the Surah is again the concept of promoting people into believing the ideas and advice in Muhammad’s prophethood and also presenting them with a warning. It speaks of the different stories of Prophets Noah, Lot, Shuaib, Hud, Salih and Moses."
