Presentations | English

A parasite or roundworm which lives in small intestine which are capable of penetrating through human skin. It’s a wide spread disease with about more than 700 million people affected. Common in tropical region which is warm and humid. They get transmitted from infested soil and enters the body when one walks barefooted or soil comes in contact with the body. Disease causing two species are ancylostoma duodenale and necator americanus. The worm egg hatches in the soil, infection starts when the penetration happens and the process takes 30 minutes to 6 hours to get completed. Once reaching the abdominal area, it can cause pain, diarrhoea or even occult faecal blood. Sometimes the disease has no symptoms. Also, sometimes it can lead to anaemia, because the worm feeds on intestinal blood. This can cause protein deficiency. The infection is completely curable with proper medication. Let's have a look into the PowerPoint presentation.
