Current-day Rajamundry was once called Rajamahendravaram. The city was built in the 10th century AD and it was the great king Rajaraja Narendra’s capital. It was during this king’s regime that Nannayya, the first of the ‘Kavitrayam’ began writing the Mahabharatam in Telugu. The city was of great prominence even to the Kakatiyas. రాజమహేంద్రవరం, అంటే రాజమండ్రి, క్రీ.శ.10వ శతాబ్దంలో నిర్మించబడింది. రాజమహేంద్రవరం ను రాజరాజ నరేంద్రుడు రాజధానిగా చేసుకొని పరిపాలించేవాడు అని చరిత్రకారులు చెప్తారు. నరేంద్రుడు పరిపాలించే కాలంలోనే కవిత్రయంలో మొదటి వాడైన నన్నయ్య మహాభారతాన్ని తెలుగులో రచించడం ప్రారంభించారు. కాకతీయ సామ్రాజ్యంలో రాజమహేంద్ర కి ప్రముఖ స్థానం ఉండేది. ఇటువంటివి మరెన్నో విశేషాలు, రాజమహేంద్రవరం చరిత్ర ఈ ప్రదర్శన ద్వారా తెలియజేయడం జరిగింది.
