In architecture, the term ‘international style’ is used to depict a particular style of design that primarily came into being during the 1920s in Germany, France and Holland. It did reach America in 10 years, after which it was picked up by the Americans as their predominant tendency in architecture. Majorly influenced by Le Corbusier, a pioneer himself, emerged the international modernist style of architecture. It soon turned into a synonym for successful construction using glass, steel and reinforced concrete, which soon started to be considered the ‘modern’ style of design and art.
