Presentations | English

Motivation of an employee is one of the key factors to an organisation’s success. The level of commitment, desire, drive and energy that an employee showcases is affected by various factors. What motivates an employee at workplace is one of the most debatable topics. Motivation is the process that initiates, guides and maintains a goal oriented behaviour. In this context the factors affecting the work force of an organization will have a direct impact on the productivity of the employee as well as the organization itself. Herzberg's motivation theory is one of the content theories of motivation. This attempt to explain the factors that motivate individuals through identifying and satisfying their individual needs, desire and the aims pursued to satisfy these desires. Herzberg's Motivation Theory model, or Two Factor Theory, provides two factors that affect motivation in the workplace. These factors are hygiene and motivating factors. If hygiene factors are less it will cause an employee to work less. Likewise, Motivating factors will encourage an employee to work harder if they are present. This theory of motivation is also known as a two factor content theory. His theory has been highly influential in the workplace and is still used today by managers around the world. The presentation will help you to understand the topic in detail.
