Helping Behavior

Presentations | English

Helping behavior is providing aid or benefit to another person. It does not matter what the motivation of the helper is, only that the recipient is assisted. People often act to benefit other people, and these acts are examples of helping behavior. Such behaviors may come in many forms: helping an individual in need; sharing personal resources; volunteering time, effort, and expertise; cooperating with others to achieve some common goals etc. Researchers have suggested that five key things must happen in order for a person to take helping action. An individual must: notice what is happening; interpret the event as an emergency; experience feelings of responsibility; believe that they have the skills to help; and make a conscious choice to offer assistance. The presentation contains a detailed analysis of the topic. Have a look.
