Every year on July 1st, INDIA commemorates National Doctors' Day. When there is a pandemic situation, doctors are always the first to come to fight it for the general population. There have been many pandemic situations such as COVID-19, Plague, Flu, AIDS, Ebola, and others where doctors were the front liner for public safety and their health. In India, National Doctors' Day was first observed on July 1, 1991, in honour of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, to honour his contributions to the field of medicine. July 1st is both his death and birth anniversary, which fall on the same day.
