Every year on November 14th, India commemorates Children's Day. Apart from paying tribute to our first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, it speaks of children's rights, care, and education. Children referred to him as Chacha Nehru, and he was a strong supporter of children's education, always looking for ways to ensure that they had a successful academic life. This day is a reflection of his affection for children. The meaning of Children's Day is to reflect on how well the rights granted to children are implemented for the benefit of each child. And if they must be recognised or emphasised only on this day, is a question we must ask ourselves.
