Hallucination

Have you ever heard a voice that no else in the room heard? Or seen an image which is not visible to others? These are nothing but sensory experiences. They appear real to you but are created by you mind. The condition might be caused by some mental illness or side effects of medication. Types of hallucinations are visual, sense of smell, taste, hearing or bodily sensations. Visual is seeing things that aren't there, olfactory is hallucinating about the smell of things, auditory is hearing sounds or voice as someone speaking and tactile is feel of touch or movement happening on the body. Causes include mental illness like schizophrenia, dementia and delirium, substance use of LSD or PCP, lack of sleep, medications of Parkinson's disease, depression, psychosis etc. Accurate diagnosis is very important for treating the condition effectively.
