Genetically Modified Food or, in short, GMO food are food products developed from organisms whose genetic material was changed or enhanced in a certain artificial way. The process is a part of food engineering and here, the DNA of the organisms from whom the food item is derived, was introduced to a foreign material, which could be the DNA material from another organism or just any type of change as such. They are hence called genetically modified. The process is not exclusive to plants but also animals as well.
