General Relativity & Special Relativity

Presentations | English

Have you heard of relativity and its types? Relativity provides the basis for understanding cosmic processes and the geometry of the universe itself. The theory of relativity usually encompasses two interrelated theories by Albert Einstein: Special Relativity and General Relativity, proposed and published in 1905 and 1915, respectively. In physics, the Special theory of relativity, or special relativity for short, is a scientific theory regarding the relationship between space and time. One of the most famous equations in mathematics comes from special relativity, The equation E = mc². Special Relativity showed us that space and time are not independent of one another but can be mixed into each other and therefore must be considered as the same object, which we shall denote as space-time. The consequences of space/time mixing are time dilation. and length contraction. General relativity, also known as the general theory of relativity, is the geometric theory of gravitation. The general theory of relativity holds that what we perceive as the force of gravity arises from the curvature of space and time. The scientist proposed that objects such as the sun and the Earth change this geometry.
