1971-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ പോൾ കല്ലുങ്കൽ നിർമ്മിച്ച് ജെ. ഡി തോട്ടൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത മലയാളചലച്ചിത്രമാണ് ഗംഗസംഗമം. പ്രേം നസീർ, ജയഭാരതി, തിക്കുറിശ്ശി സുകുമാരൻ നായർ, ജെസി എന്നിവരാണ് ചിത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ജി.ദേവരാജനാണ് ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ശബ്ദരേഖ ഒരുക്കിയത്. ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു മലയാള ചലച്ചിത്ര സംവിധായകനായിരുന്നു ജെ ഡി തോട്ടൻ. എം. കൃഷ്ണൻ നായർ, എസ്. എസ്. രാജൻ, എ.ബി. രാജ് എന്നിവരും മലയാള ചലച്ചിത്ര വ്യവസായത്തിലെ വിജയകരമായ ചലച്ചിത്ര സംവിധായകരിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു, ഇന്ത്യൻ സിനിമ. കേരളത്തിൽ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ എഴുത്തുകാരനും ആക്ടിവിസ്റ്റുമായിരുന്നു പൊൻകുന്നം വർക്കി. 120-ലധികം ചെറുകഥകളും 16 നാടകങ്ങളും അദ്ദേഹം എഴുതിയിട്ടുണ്ട്, കൂടാതെ തന്റെ കൃതികളിൽ സാമൂഹിക പ്രാധാന്യം സ്ഥിരമായി ഊന്നിപ്പറയുന്ന ഒരു എഴുത്തുകാരനായി അദ്ദേഹം പരക്കെ കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. തന്റെ ജീവിതകാലത്ത് വർക്കി പലതരത്തിലുള്ള സാമൂഹിക രോഗങ്ങളുമായി പോരാടി. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കഥകൾ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെയും ജനാധിപത്യത്തിന്റെയും പ്രാധാന്യം ഊന്നിപ്പറയുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പേര് പ്രതിഷേധത്തിന്റെ പര്യായമായി മാറി, സാമൂഹിക അനീതിക്കെതിരെ ക്രൂരമായ പ്രചാരണം നടത്താൻ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ സാഹിത്യ വൈദഗ്ദ്ധ്യം ഉപയോഗിച്ചു.
Gangasangamam is a Malayalam film directed by J. D. Thottan and produced by Paul Kallungal that was released in 1971. Prem Nazir, Jayabharathi, Thikkurissi Sukumaran Nair, and Jesey play the key roles in the film. G. Devarajan composed the film's soundtrack. J. D. Thottan was a Malayalam language film director from India. M. Krishnan Nair, S. S. Rajan, and A. B. Raj are among the Malayalam film industry's successful film directors, according to Indian Cinema. Ponkunnam Varkey was an Indian writer and activist who lived in Kerala. He wrote more than 120 short stories and 16 plays, and he is widely regarded as a writer who has consistently emphasised social significance in his work. Varkey battled a variety of social ills during his lifetime. His stories emphasised the importance of liberty and democracy. His name became synonymous with protest, and he utilised his literary prowess to wage a ruthless campaign against social injustice.
