Gamification in HR - Microsoft Language Quality Game

Presentations | English

Microsoft is working on a number of gamification projects, including the Language Quality Game. When a software company like Microsoft distributes its products around the world, it must translate the software's text into a variety of languages. The speed with which these translations are completed, as well as the accuracy of the translations, determines whether or not products will arrive on time in international markets. The Language Quality Game was created by Microsoft to help speed up and improve the release of Windows 7. A total of 4,500 Microsoft employees took part in a collective effort to find translation errors, not just those in the group that normally translated the software. The participants competed for bragging rights by identifying and correcting the most errors.
