Similar to Cog Cubed's Groundskeeper Akili designed a gamified app Evo. It helps to detect whether the patient has Alzheimer's or not. The app tests the presence of Alzheimer's in people by examining how well they cope with distractions (cognitive interference) which is important in real life ex: self-care and safety. During the game, the players are asked to tap the screen when they are distracted in the form of a fish or bird that appears when tilting their iPad or iPhone while steering an alien lying down the river. The performance is assessed against the predetermined standards.
