Forest Society and Colonialism

Presentations | English

"Forest Society and Colonialism refers to the Act of the British Parliament that circulated and implemented laws prohibiting the employment of forest and forest products by the Indian farmers. This law was articulated because of the impression amongst the officials that the Indian farming practices were hampering with the forest cover of the region which was significant for the revenue of the crown. India was colonised by the British for a very long period of time and the main reason behind why they did this was economic growth. They planned on looting and taking away every bit of wealth back to their own kingdom. As children, each of us have come across classes in history and the chapters concerning colonisation and the British rule. The PPT provides a clear understanding of the topic and leaves you even more curious. Give it a watch right now!
