Fibre Optics

Presentations | English

An optical fiber is a flexible, transparent fiber made by drawing glass or plastic to a diameter slightly thicker than that of a human hair. Fiber optics is the technology used to transmit information as pulses of light through strands of fiber made of glass or plastic over long distances. It is used for long-distance and high-performance data networking. It is also commonly used in telecommunication services such as internet, television and telephones. There are several different types of fiber-optic networks but they all begin with optic cables running from the network hub to the curb near your home or straight to your home to provide a fiber-optic internet connection. The fastest type of fiber network is called Fiber to the Home (FTTH) or Fiber to the Premises (FTTP). The presentation provides in-depth knowledge on the topic.
