Features of Performance Management

Performance management is defined as the process of continuous communication and feedback between a manager and employee towards the achievement of organizational objectives. It is a discipline that consists of a set of five general processes: planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling. These five are part of a body of practices and theories on how to build a successful management system. Some of the important features of performance management system are: clear metrics of success and having clear goals; automated and intuitive process 360-degree feedback; self-evaluation tools; goal-setting support, identifying training opportunities; instant feedback and constructive criticism; manager log; excellent customer service etc. All these features add upto the working process of an organization.
