Fayol’s Principles of Management

Presentations | English

Henry Fayol, also known as the 'father of modern management theory' gave a new perception of the concept of management. He introduced a general theory that can be applied to all levels of management and every department. He was the first to suggest the functions of management which are recognised as the essential part of a manager's work by the modern authorities on management. The five functions of management as defined by him are: Planning, Organizing, Commanding, Coordinating, and Controlling. These five functions comprise “management”, one of the six industrial activities described in Henri Fayol management theory. Fayol felt that if the right employee was in the right place and doing the right job, then productivity would increase, as would profit.
