Extended Star Topology

Presentations | English

Interconnections make it easy for communication in networking. The method of arranging the different elements used for telecommunication is termed network topology. Different types of topologies are designed. One among them is visually star shaped that is each of the individual system is connected to that one center point. The star topology is small, centralized and makes trouble shooting easier as every point is connected directly with the Centre. Extended Star Topology is addition of sub-central hubs to the main central hub. The inclusion of more nodes or switch connected with the main node can help in use of more devices. They are used in LAN (Local Area Network) connection and are cost effective thereby reducing the use of wiring. The possibility of network failure is less and is also easy to find faults. Large Networks like corporates, school and college use this mode of connection.
