It is the study that deals with the incidence, determinants, possible control and distribution of illnesses and diseases as well as other health-related issues and factors, in a certain area and population. Epidemiologists search and find out the main cause behind a certain disease and figure out how to bring it to an end. They thus understand the source and to would take measures against letting it break out again in the future. The individuals working in the department or the epidemiologists are also referred to as “Disease Detectives”.
