Environmental Resource Management

Presentations | English

The human race is entirely dependent on environment that feed us and provide everything that we need to thrive and survive. Over the past several decades, humans have changed our environment more rapidly and extensively. An environmental resource is any material, service or information from the environment that is valuable to society. Environmental resource management is the management of interaction and impact of human societies on environment. It aims to ensure that ecosystem services are protected and maintained for future human generations and to also maintain ecosystem integrity by considering ethical, economic and scientific variables. It tries to identify factors affected by conflicts that rise between meeting needs and protecting resources and to thus protect the environment and its sustainability. Environmental and natural resource planning combines protection of environmental resources with community goals. These community goals could include economic development, improved government efficiency and enhanced quality of life.
