The pinworm lives in the human intestine and are capable of causing infection. Usually, the disease gets transmitted through contaminated water and are commonly caused in children. Infection starts when there occurs contact with the eggs of the worm and it may be from perianal area or from environment. Eggs hatch in intestine, and the adult develops in colon. The adult female of these genre has long pointed tail, whose lifetime is typically one to two months. Mature adult females move to anal area and lay eggs and the cycle of these nematodes continues.
