Electrostatic Force

Presentations | English

Rubbing a balloon on head makes the hair raise. Rubbing one object against another, creates static electricity. This is because the rubbing creates a negative charge carried by the electrons. Rubbing Nylon clothes against the wearer's skin produces electrostatics. It's a branch of physics dealing with the study of stationary electric charges at rest. Another name is static electricity. There are Positive and Negative charges. Same charges repel and unlike charges attract each other. It is the force exerted by the particles of a charged object on the particles of charged or uncharged object. It is a non- contact force. Lightning is another example of electrostatics. It is caused by static electricity inside the clouds. Please see the presentation for details.
